Crisis Management

Why Crisis Management Is Crucial

When a time of crisis comes, it’s never a place you want to be alone. Today, people consume information differently. A reputation can be made or broken in a short amount of time. Knowing when to act and how to act, can make all the difference. There’s no other way to put it, crisis management is crucial.

When an unpredictable or unforeseen event or consequence occurs, you need a calm, logical response to immediately stabilize the situation. Things happen, that’s life. But when things happen that are life-changing, your response can chart the course for better or worse.

How We’re Different

We are not only a crisis management team, we’re a law firm. When you come to us with a crisis, you not only get our experience with crisis management, but also our legal lens which sees what other crisis management firms cannot. Most crisis firms only deal with the media, we bring a different element to the table.

Our team has handled multiple crises at high levels. We have guided clients through what seemed to them as an insurmountable feat, and we’ve guided them with a package deal which includes legal reassurance which they cannot find elsewhere.

Not only do we assist clients in responding to a crisis, we help them look forward to avoiding future legal pitfalls of crises which may arise in the future. We are forward thinking, not reactionary. And, with our own experience with the media, we’ve been down the road ourselves. Who better to guide you than someone who has been there before?

In addition, having our team on your side gives you protections a public relations team cannot. Our legal team believes in being on the ground of a crisis and putting our eyes on the problem. For example, after an accident or disaster, we can be on-site immediately to advise you and gather critical evidence which may otherwise be missed by a communications professional. We employ cutting edge technology such as surveillance drones and other evidence gathering techniques ensuring critical evidence is stored and can be legally admissible in court if necessary.

Most importantly, any conversations you have with us are privileged and not subject to discovery in any potential legal dispute which may arise down the line. This need for this type of protection is often overlooked by other crisis management firms. It is for these reasons we offer a crisis management benefits package others cannot compete with.

The Three Phases of Crisis Management

As a process, crisis management is not just one thing. Crisis management can be divided into three phases: (1) pre-crisis, (2) crisis response, and (3) post-crisis. The pre-crisis phase is concerned with prevention and preparation. The crisis response phase is when management must actually respond to a crisis. The post-crisis phase is when the crisis has occurred, a response has been made, and now focus is turned onto any potential repercussions and how to prevent and account for future crises.

At Jason Rogers Williams + Associates, we assist clients with all 3 phases depending on the facts and circumstances one is facing.
